10 Market Finds at High Point Market

May 4, 2015

Our recent trip to High Point Market proved very fruitful, with all of us choosing an item or two for MDI’s inventory. The 10 market finds were so tempting, we filled two SUVs to the top! There were three people in this car — both passengers had to ride with things in their laps and at their feet.

We thought it’d be fun to let you in on a few pieces we picked up. We can’t wait to see how we’ll incorporate these items into our design.

Elisabeth:

I like the quirky vibe of these Kalalou vases. It’s a fun, unexpected piece, and it’s slightly similar to Jonathan Adler.

I like the scale and figure of this Mr Brown mirror. It’s a classic form but updated in a more modern way.

Alex:

This Trowbridge piece shows Vera White at Surbiton Golf Club in Surrey, England with her dog Barney, who appears to be her caddie. We stocked up on several vintage golfing images, but I especially liked this one with the “canine” helper. Its composition is stunning and has so much character. I would love to know the story behind the lady in the image!

I was also a huge fan of the Everett table lamp from Mr. Brown. Its mix of modern lines, antiqued finish, and acrylic base are perfect for just about any space!

Delta:

This Global Views bubble light is really modern and will give a different feel to a room.

This Theodore Alexander floor lamp is lovely, modern, and multi-functional.

Margaret:

This ledger book has handwritten daily notes and numbers for all that happened in this person’s life — very interesting!

Kalalou, 12 Emotional Dogs:
The whimsy of the many faces of these pooches makes me smile.

Alexis:

At the High Point Market, I couldn’t resist purchasing the following two items for my very own home!

Studio A Morning Glory Table Vines in Nickel: I like that they took the traditional silver candle sticks but with a cool, organic twist — literally!

I also purchased a Valentine Coffee Table from Mr Brown for my living room. The two nesting tables provide extra space when needed for entertaining a crowd. The glass tops and open metal frames both make the large-ish coffee table feel lighter and open up the space.

What’s the latest decor item you splurged on?
