We’ve put the finishing touches on our newly renovated and expanded design studio and we couldn’t be happier. Our studio is our home away from home. It’s where we develop relationships, create, dream, and get inspired. This larger space gives us plenty of room to spread out vision boards, meet with clients, and display one-of-a-kind treasures and favorite accessories. (Stay tuned for a post on our current favorite accessories!)

Dining Room Tables + Charleston Wine + Food
A sure sign of spring is the Charleston Wine + Food Festival. Wine and food bring people together, and some of our happiest memories are made sharing a meal with family and friends. Plus, we just love food. And wine.
Traditional Charleston Interior Design at Robert Bishop Smith House
Last month we shared the renovation of the historic Dock Street Theater featuring traditional Charleston interior design. Near the beach, such as our Isle of Palms and Kiawah Island interior design projects, contemporary design is almost always in order. However, on the Charleston peninsula, especially south of Broad, traditional design still reigns.
Lowcountry Giving Day
Last month the MDI team participated in the Lowcountry Giving Day. This is the day that the Coastal Community Foundation encourages local non-profits to use online technology to stimulate donor engagement and increase donor reach. Each year this day raises millions for Charleston area non-profits. This year the Lowcountry Giving Day raised nearly $4.2 million! Here’s how we each contributed:

Well, we’ve done it again! Since 2013, MDI has racked up both design as well as service awards with Houzz, a leading platform for home remodeling and design. 10 Fourth of July Decor Ideas
Independence Day is only one-day long, but we think these Fourth of July decor ideas are good ideas for the whole summer. With the right placement, a nautical red, white, and blue theme can be appropriate for Independence Day as well as every hot day of the year. These are just a few of the designs we love so much we’ve incorporated them with our own office decor since they’re so perfect for Charleston and the sunny, coastal life we have year-round. We hope you get inspired, too. Happy 4th!
