We closed out winter and welcomed spring with another magazine feature! Aspire Design and Home magazine explores the world of design, architecture, and all things luxury living. They recently conducted an exclusive interview with Margaret for their Designer Friday segment, where they feature emergent and established designers from all over the world.

In the interview, Margaret elaborates on what it takes to build a legacy brand for interior design. Margaret truly embodies the definition of growth, opening MDI Luxury Design 36 years ago when she was nine months pregnant, and evolving it into the incredible firm that it is now. 

According to Margaret, listening is the most essential skill for a designer. Her first step of any project is getting to know her clients and using their vision combined with their lifestyle to design a space that is as personal and functional as it is beautiful. As a lover of all things business, Margaret also says the key to a successful firm is a strong team, detailed project management, and clear communication. 

Margaret’s own world travel experience is part of what makes MDI Luxury Design so unique as an interior design firm. The inspiration she finds in cultures, architecture, and natural landscapes from all over the world can be found in many of her projects. In fact, she often purchases things on her travels to use in her client’s homes!
