Best of Houzz 2015: 5 projects that helped us win, again
January 22, 2015
Well, we’ve done it again! Since 2013, MDI has racked up both design as well as service awards with Houzz, a leading platform for home remodeling and design. We received the announcement this week that we can officially add 2015 to the list of years our designs have been favorites for Houzz readers.
Best of Houzz 2015 is “a homeowner-to-homeowner guide to the top home builders, architects, interior designers, landscape pros, and other residential remodeling professionals on Houzz, from tile, stone and countertop pros to painters.”
Our win is all thanks to the viewers — all 25 million of them. Based on which projects and photos were the most popular, Houzz determines who makes the cut for best design. We are so honored to have earned this accolade, and we’d love to share with you five of the photos that were our most popular this past year.
1. Southern Living Idea House: Traditional bedroom
We loved going a little over the top for this idea house room. The room began with the fabric for the duvet color before we reinterpreted the pattern for the ceiling detail. The beautiful bedside tables are from Amy Howard.
2. DeBordieu Project: Transitional living room
Here, reclaimed wood is used to surround the fireplace, making it beautifully center the room. The table is from Gabby Home.
3. Kiawah Family Home: Beach-style bedroom
A vibrant girl’s room is filled with life through the patterned draperies from Designer’s Guild, lime chair, and turquoise accents.
4. Comfortable Luxury: Eclectic living room
MDI made good use of this big living space by dividing it into several areas: game table, reading area, center table, main/sitting/TV area. It’s all connected with white and neutral upholstery throughout.
5. Comfortable Luxury: Traditional bedroom
MDI turned this room into a subtly masculine bedroom complete with a king bed from Hickory Chair, upholstered headboard, wooden rails, and footboard in Pollack Fabrics. We love the green tea wall.
