Comfort Decor: 5 Fuzzy Ways to Keep Warm

February 5, 2015

According to Monday’s groundhog, we have at least six more weeks of winter in store. While you may be dreaming of long days and warm rays, take advantage of the cold while you can with some comfort decor. Here are five fuzzy ways to keep warm.

1. Suede sofa slipcover

In warm cities like Charleston, you may not want a warm sofa fabric year-round, so why not opt for a slipcover. A suede one will ensure you’re set for winter, and you can remove it when the temperatures rise again.

2. Cozy throws

Possibly the most important home accessory is a good throw blanket. From wool to knit to furry to fleece, there’s no shortage of ways to warm up while you relax. Whether you’re reading, watching TV, or napping, snuggle up with a fabric that you love best, like maybe…

Mohair from Hinterveld

Or faux fur

Or knit throws from Sferra

3. Plenty of pillows

When it comes to cuddling up with Netflix at night, there can never be too many pillows. We love decorative ones from Bliss Studio:

and Callisto Home

Think soft fabrics, collect a few you love, and turn your sofa into a haven you won’t want to leave. This example is from our work in Cypress Point.

4. Faux Bearskin Rug

When winter strikes, you need to keep your feet protected from cold tiles, especially when you’re fresh out of a warm shower. Fluffy bathroom mats are a must, and we love this decorative faux bearskin rug for keeping your toes nice and toasty.

5. Dog Bed

Don’t forget about your best friend! Although we think having a soft pet to snuggle is as comfy as a good blanket, remember your furry friend needs a comfort zone, too. Nothing is too good for Fido, so think luxury fabrics when choosing a bed that will look just as nice as it feels. Try upholstering one with a luxurious Sunbrella fabric that’s also cleanable.
