Home Tour: Mountain Interior Design

August 11, 2017

In Charleston’s August heat, we love thinking about cool mountain interior design inspiration. We’ve been giving you a sneak peek of some of our new projects recently, and today we’re excited to give you a full-on tour of one of our favorites. This cozy townhouse is nestled in the foothills of the North Carolina Blue Ridge Mountains. The views are incredible, so chose colors that reflect the outdoors. We had such fun incorporating all of the beautiful elements in this special home.

The living room is all about curling up to watch Mother Nature’s show. A unique tete-a-tete chair is the most tempting spot in the room, while butter-yellow club chairs invite a relaxing conversation.

The kitchen is open to the living room, and there’s nothing here to distract you from the vistas outside. Appliances are hidden behind custom paneled cabinets, the bar features a living-edge wood top, and natural stone and hand-hewn beams cover the range hood.

The owners love to display mementos and art from their adventures. In the hall, a stunning portrait of an American Indian makes this pass-by area special. In the study upstairs, an original painting of Positano hangs above a convertible sofa. This home is the perfect example of how art, furniture, and artifacts of different styles and periods can blend beautifully.

Bathrooms and bedrooms stay warm and neutral, while details and motifs that echo nature give the home a particular sense of place.

We’ve got one more home tour lined up for you this month so stay tuned. Meanwhile, follow us on Instagram for even more design inspiration.
