We’re thrilled to share our cozy Lowcountry Lodge project with you! This Kiawah Island home is a stunning blend of contemporary design and natural charm. The homeowners were looking to create a space that felt both modern and rustic, and we had so much fun integrating organic materials to create their peaceful haven. We combined high ceilings and large windows with natural textures and clean lines to reflect their vision of a natural retreat that also feels warm and inviting.

Walking through the front door, you’re immediately greeted by natural touches, from the reclaimed barn wood-paneled walls to the custom door handles inspired by large tree branches.

A neutral foundational palette and the use of organic materials grounds the space, while the clean lines and pops of burnt orange add a modern touch. 

The natural rustic charm continues into the open concept living room and kitchen. High ceilings and large windows display the natural views surrounding the home, including a sweeping oak and the iconic Lowcountry palmettos. Rustic wood trusses, a stacked granite fireplace, wood paneling, and a branch-wrapped mantle highlight the natural style of the home.

What better way to design a home for hosting than to add a tucked-away bar and game room? This room serves as a lively gathering space, where the homeowners’ personalities shine through. The artwork and accessories in this room highlight a sense of playfulness and love for the unexpected.

The primary bedroom is a true retreat, with another stone fireplace, rustic wood accents, and a velvet bedspread. The wooden trusses, high ceilings, and floor-to-ceiling windows continue into the bedroom, creating cohesion throughout the home. The ensuite bathroom feels like a personal spa, from the soaking tub to the natural finishes and dramatic light fixtures.

The back porch serves as an extension of the home, designed as an outdoor living and dining room that feels just as cozy as the spaces inside. Paneled ceilings out here reflect the warmth of the interior. Whether enjoying a quiet morning cup of coffee or entertaining guests on a warm spring night, this space is the perfect example of combining the luxury of the indoors with the natural beauty of the outdoors.

It was so much fun finding ways to combine contemporary style with the beauty of the Lowcountry throughout this Kiawah home.
