Our designers are always looking for inspiration – even when we’re Netflix binging! Today we’re sharing some of our favorite interior design from TV and movie sets:

MargaretThe Crown

The Crown is a Netflix original about the reign of a young Queen Elizabeth II. The sets are so beloved by Anglophiles and design aficionados that Architectural Digest covered them. The Queen’s office, breakfast room and bedroom at Buckingham Palace are saturated in reds, blues and golds, accented with plenty of gilding and greenery. Also front and center are marble, textiles, and antiquities – all highlighted with perfect lighting.

Alexis – New Girl

Also covered by Architectural Digest, the set of Fox’s sitcom New Girl portrays a Los Angeles loft shared by four roommates who found each other on Craigslist. The loft is and industrial 1900s building in the Arts District downtown LA. Steel beams, exposed brick, and weathered pine floors are clues to the loft’s history, while eclectic furnishings mirror the lives of the characters. The kitchen is a favorite with indigo blue walls, open shelving, and a stainless steel restaurant table serving as an island.

Anna – Big Little Lies

Set in Monterey, California, Big Little Lies is a mystery that takes place in a series of beautiful beachfront homes where everything is high-end. Filled with linen, contemporary or transitional furniture, opulent rugs and accent pillows, the homes are impeccably turned out with not a hint of clutter anywhere.

Katelynn – Downton Abby

Set in England’s Highclere Castle, Downton Abby sets are pure 19th century bliss. The castle is Gothic Revival with touches of Italianate and Jacobean influences. French silk wallpaper and plaster moldings are perfect backdrops for Victorian furnishings, gilded paintings, lots of lush greenery, and priceless antiques. Even the spartan servant’s quarters and kitchen are beautiful in their minimalism.
