We’re thrilled to introduce another Design Assistant, Emily Donahue! Emily received her Bachelor’s in Psychology with a Studio Art Minor from Queens University of Charlotte. While living in Charlotte, she traveled to Charleston often and always thought living in the Lowcountry would be a dream. 

Emily enjoys using her psychology background to find harmony in different perspectives and influences. Her approach to the interior design industry is all about balance. She loves using her experience and passion for design to create beautiful spaces while also adapting to the unique needs of each project. Her personal style is timeless and she enjoys designing interiors that incorporate classic styles with newer trends.

Seeing the final product come to life is Emily’s favorite aspect of the interior design process. “Install days can be one of the most challenging parts of the job, but seeing the final product and the client’s reaction to their new home is pure magic,” she says. She’s grateful for the sense of community at MDI and is excited to be part of the team!

Emily enjoys spending time with her husband and their Great Dane, Eleanor. They’re usually either enjoying beach days on Sullivan’s Island or searching for new golf courses or restaurants in Charleston. One of her favorite local Charleston restaurants is Obstinate Daughter for the yummy eats and great atmosphere. She also enjoys browsing the antiques at Acquisitions.
