The Kiawah River was the focal point for this relaxed family getaway on Kiawah Island. There are sweeping marsh views from every room, and we incorporated plenty of the homeowner’s favorite colors: blue.

Home Tour: Classic Kiawah
Influenced by the Arts and Crafts style, this classic Kiawah home has custom wood details everywhere. Because it has glorious views of the marsh and golf course, we used a coastal palette. This is an island home, so we made sure everything was low-maintenance and comfortable.
Margaret’s Favorite Kitchens
This time of year most of us are spending a lot more time in our kitchens. Gone are the days of tomato sandwiches and cold shrimp lunches – Fall and Winter have us back in the kitchen making more elaborate meals and traditional favorites to accommodate a steady stream of parties and house guests. In honor of the hardest working room in the house, we’re reflecting on some of our favorites:
Two Tone Kitchen Cabinets
Two-tone kitchen cabinets are a lovely design trend that has classic staying power. The trick is getting the split balanced with enough contrast so that you notice, but not so much that it’s jarring. Some of our favorite kitchen interior design projects are on Kiawah Island, and many of them feature two-tone cabinets.
Kiawah Interior Design – A Play In Neutrals
The anatomy of a project. This is a subject that we haven’t touched on lately. We thought we would roll out some of the projects that were photographed back in the spring. Â This ocean front Kiawah project is a recent favorite. Our clients were delightful and their desires for the home were right in line with what we wanted to see in the space. With the home’s inverted floor plan, the main living area is three stories up, creating a 180 degree view of the ocean!
Residential Tile Design: MDI Finds Inspiration In Chicago
Well, hello, Ann Sacks! It is probably safe to say that the Ann Sacks showroom is one of the most fun of all times. For reference, NeoCon is a couple of floors at the Chicago Merchandise Mart. As a result, we were able to take advantage of all of the commercial and residential design showrooms while in Chicago. The images kind of speak for themselves as spectacular examples of residential tile design.
Decorative Hardware: Bird’s Charleston, SC Showroom
We were excited to celebrate last week as Bird Hardware’s Charleston, SC location made a move to Brigade Street. They were already up here with us in the “neck” but much like MDI, they saw the chance to make a move to a new space. This end of town is really starting to shape up. Bird Hardware is one of Charleston, SC’s most trusted sources “for high quality architectural hardware and luxury plumbing fixtures.”
