Palmetto Bluff is a gated residential community and resort located in Bluffton, South Carolina. Nature meets luxury in this beautiful community. Take a walk and enjoy the natural beauty of 32 miles of coastline and wildlife Palmetto Bluff has to offer, including birds, deer, and alligators. Or explore our list of our Palmetto Bluff favorites.

The Arts Initiative

Palmetto Bluff and the city of Bluffton are fantastic areas to explore the arts. Palmetto Bluff has even started The Arts Initiative to encourage this. “Art is central to the Palmetto Bluff experience. Countless bands, painters, crafters, and artisans have graced our community over the years and, with the launch of The Arts Initiative, we aim to keep the momentum going.”

Restaurants

Octagon offers yummy seafood dishes inspired by the Lowcountry. We love the welcoming atmosphere and the cozy porch!

Enjoy an exclusive dining experience at River House with its floor to ceiling windows overlooking the riverfront. Their menu includes steak and seafood, and they are known for their extensive wine selection.

For a more casual lunch spot, visit Fore & Aft for tacos and light Mexican food. The porch overlooks the avian sanctuary, so be sure to look out for egrets and herons gliding over the water!

Things To Do

With all of its natural beauty, Palmetto Bluff is so much fun to explore! Rent a canoe, kayak, or paddleboard if you’re feeling adventurous, to discover all of the area’s waterways. If you prefer to stay dry while exploring, find one of the many hiking paths or ride bikes around the property.

Palmetto Bluff is technically located within Bluffton, but they almost seem like two separate worlds! Venture into “downtown” Bluffton for shops, parks, restaurants, and more. The Arts and Seafood Festival and weekly Thursday Farmers Market are always a big hit!

The natural gentle slopes, lush grass, and sunny days make the Lowcountry a golfer’s paradise. Palmetto Bluff’s May River Golf Course boasts 18 challenging holes, riverfront views, and a welcoming club with shop and grill.

Of course we have to mention the beach! Nearby Bluffton hosts a small beach, Brighton Beach, along the May River. For larger public beaches, visit nearby Hilton Head Island.
