Summer is officially here, and we are really feeling it in Charleston. Luckily, there are plenty of stylish fans designed to keep you cool when the temperatures rise, and we’d love to share with you our five favorite fan designs at the moment.
What’s your favorite flower? Here at MDI, we love them all — from hydrangeas to wisteria to poppies. We also love to incorporate the beautiful colors of spring blossoms into our decor. Here are a few of our favorite pieces that blend May flowers with interesting design.
Our recent trip to High Point Market proved very fruitful, with all of us choosing an item or two for MDI’s inventory. The 10 market finds were so tempting, we filled two SUVs to the top! There were three people in this car — both passengers had to ride with things in their laps and at their feet.
One of our favorite times of year is when we at MDI all venture over to High Point, North Carolina for the twice-a-year furnishings industry trade show. With more than 70,000 in attendance, the spring 2015 High Point market is a huge gathering of designers, makers, and all sorts of exciting vendors. Here are a few things we loved about The International Home Furnishings Show.
Spring has officially sprung, and in the design world that means it’s also time to freshen up the decor. If you’re spring-cleaning, you can do more than just dust the furniture and empty out the closet — you can also implement some spring decor ideas that may have come to mind during those cold winter days.
The Scout Guide is a beautifully curated magazine that illustrates the “best of local” in the various cities it covers with every issue. TSG chose Charleston for its 100th edition, and MDI was proud to be featured, too. From the top local foodie spots to the best Charleston design, TSG covered it all.
During the ASID conference last year, we were so inspired by guest speaker, designer Lisa Mende of Lisa Mende Design, that we decided to feature her in our Designer Spotlight. We got to chat with her about design trends, current projects, and even her favorite color. Here are our 5 design questions with Lisa Mende. Enjoy!
A few weeks ago, all of us at MDI road-tripped to Bluffton to visit Sunbrella’s Design Night at the Southern Living Idea House, Palmetto Bluff. Architect  Ken Pursley and Interior Designer Suzanne Kasler, who we blogged about earlier this year, worked together to create a refreshing look for this year’s idea house.
