For us, setting the table is half the battle of great entertaining. We’ll figure out the food and beverage later. First and foremost, how does the house look and how will we set the table?

From Our Table to Yours
As we head into the holiday season, MDI has so much to be thankful for. We would like to wish you and yours a happy Thanksgiving and share one of our favorite seasonal recipes.
A Day on the Jobsite…in Images!
We had an exciting day walking through a new construction project on Kiawah Island. We cannot tell you how much we love to come in on the ground level; the opportunity to review floorplans in the early stages lets us catch potentially issues.
Trending: Owls
Our orders from the October market are beginning to trickle in. We just opened the one above and a light bulb went off. OWLS! We have been seeing owls everywhere lately.
Croghan’s + MDI = An Amazing Upper Room
For us, this relationship really began on the storied streets of Charleston, SC. Margaret, Elizabeth (our MDI numbers cruncher), Mariana and Rhett all grew up together, spending their days amongst the cobblestone streets and single houses of Charleston. It was only fitting that Croghan’s would give MDI a call to help them create an exclusive upper room so that clients might peruse potential purchases privately.
Back By Popular Demand…Challenge/Solution
We love your feedback about our thoughts! We keep hearing that you love it when we let you into our heads. Sometimes, it’s a crazy place but it’s always creating.
Eco Deco Deadline Met!
Deadline met! We just submitted our selections for the 2013 Eco Deco wall of colors.
The Red, White and Blue
In honor of election day, some red, white and blue shots that have come out of the MDI office over the years. Whether an all over scheme of blue and white or that red pop, these colors will never go out of style. We are proud to exercise our right to vote today!
ASID Excellence in Design 2012
It was another rewarding year as MDI was recognized at the 2012 ASID Carolinas Excellence in Design Awards. Each project is judged on its own merit and whether it accomplished the goals as described in the submittal. We were proud that our design work on two Kiawah Island homes were awarded as uniquely addressing the needs of our clients.
We speak our own language
This sketch is an example of the many ways that we communicate with each other here at MDI. Specifically, Margaret returned from an appointment on one of Charleston’s nearby islands and this was her way of helping the rest of us gain a feel for the house. The main floor sketch looks a bit more like a floorplan that you might be able to arrange furniture off of.
