The anatomy of a project. This is a subject that we haven’t touched on lately. We thought we would roll out some of the projects that were photographed back in the spring. Â This ocean front Kiawah project is a recent favorite. Our clients were delightful and their desires for the home were right in line with what we wanted to see in the space. With the home’s inverted floor plan, the main living area is three stories up, creating a 180 degree view of the ocean!

Good Morning, Spring!
Well, hello, Spring! The temperatures still have a little ways to go but MDI has a serious case of spring fever. We want to serve up some lemonade and catch a good sunset. We are easily distracted by the colors, freshness and spring cleaning that comes along with this particular turn of the seasons. Take a look around your house and pick one project for the spring. Big or small. It doesn’t matter! You’ll be thrilled to embrace spring with a little sunshine and newness. To get your wheels turning, here are some of our favorite ideas…
An Inspiration for The Season…A Series
Sure, each season brings forth a whole new range of patterns and colors, trims and wallpapers! Â But all of those beautiful textiles are more than just one company’s passing whim.
Out and About Over The Holidays…The Ordinary
We aren’t quite back in full swing at the office but we are out enjoying our city. Â Charleston! Â It seems as though a new restaurant crops up every time we turn around. Â
Trending: Owls
Our orders from the October market are beginning to trickle in. We just opened the one above and a light bulb went off. OWLS! We have been seeing owls everywhere lately.
John Dransfield: a high point from market
Pun intended!
We are still making our way through the 500 or so images from High Point. It’s like going through your family’s vacation photos months later only to find images that remind you of just how wonderful the trip really was. That’s how we felt when we ran across images of our time spent with John Dransfield.
Reflecting on a Road Trip
Several times a year, MDI packs up the car and hits the markets. Atlanta and High Point each host markets twice a year where furniture, lighting, rugs, accessories galore are on display with the newest season’s additions. Sounds fun, right? Right! (note tiny hint of sarcasm).
