When the homeowners first set foot on their Kiawah Island oceanside property, they stood with their arms outstretched. They knew they wanted to build a house that embraced the view – and their friends and family. Inspired by the open arms them, they built the house in a V-shape, as if it, too, was embracing the view.

The Kiawah River was the focal point for this relaxed family getaway on Kiawah Island. There are sweeping marsh views from every room, and we incorporated plenty of the homeowner’s favorite colors: blue.
Home Tour: Classic Kiawah
Influenced by the Arts and Crafts style, this classic Kiawah home has custom wood details everywhere. Because it has glorious views of the marsh and golf course, we used a coastal palette. This is an island home, so we made sure everything was low-maintenance and comfortable.
