Well what do you know? Lauren Leonard‘s September 16 Good Design feature found its way to Charleston, SC Interior Designer, Margaret Donaldson! Thanks for the shout out. We are always excited to see what fellow designers are struck by in our portfolio. We thought that we might return the favor and show you some of what we appreciate in Lauren’s portfolio.

Our Week In Charleston, SC Interior Design
Just wrapping up another great week of Charleston, SC interior design. Here are some of the highlights.
Bedroom Furniture- Beds
Bedroom furniture is not what it used to be. The image above is a perfect example! Gone are the days of the matching suite that included bed, bedside tables and dresser. Interior designers now bring the high style and blending of furniture to the bedroom. To get you thinking outside the traditional 4 walled bedroom, take a look at these beds. They are about as far from boring bedroom furniture as you can get!
Charleston Designers, Atlanta Market – Part 2
Well, I guess it’s a good sign that it has taken a couple of weeks to get through all of our images. Lots of great new design inspiration has hit our idea boards here at MDI. So…we are just going to inundate you with the goodness. Let’s visit ADAC today. Charleston Designers often travel to ADAC or NYC to see new product.
Charleston Designers, Atlanta Markets
Whew! We’re back from Atlanta and our heads are spinning with great new ideas. Did we mention that we also came straight back to a big installation?! Be on the lookout for the new project to appear on the blog soon. MDI doesn’t just go to High Point in the fall and spring; MDI also tries to make to Atlanta every year or so.
Commercial Design: A Living Wall
You may recall that we mentioned the living wall from our hotel in Chicago. We were truly captured by the feature. The green aesthetic emanates through the space. It encourages people to stop and interact. It divides spaces.
An Inspiration for The Season…A Series
Sure, each season brings forth a whole new range of patterns and colors, trims and wallpapers! But all of those beautiful textiles are more than just one company’s passing whim.
From rug to cornice design and wall detail…Margaret on the job
Have you ever wondered how we get to the final result? Where did that drapery detail come from? How did we decide to put that particular pattern on the wall?
Color Blocking and Why We Love It!
Leave it to Kate Spade and the fashion world to bring us yet another brilliant trend…color blocking. With another line of spring fashion upon us, color blocking is proving that it is around for a while.
Inside the Photograph
Have you ever wondered if there is anything special in that beautiful portfolio image? If we could sit you down and talk you through an image, what might we point out? You asked and here we are to deliver.
